“Today, with assistance from ACTS Ministry, I can say that famine is no longer a daily threat. Because of ACTS, we are privileged to have at least one meal a day.”
Keep reading to see how you can get involved. You can send food to the orphans at our ACTS Center.
This is Mary’s testimony, a widow with three children in the ACTS feeding program in the village of Saonré.
When Mary lost her husband she thought her situation was hopeless. She had no education and had no way to feed her children, rent a house or provide necessities for them.
ACTS Executive Director Joanna Ilboudo noticed Mary had organizational skills and asked her to take charge of the cooking team for the orphans feeding program. Now her children are fed and she earns a small salary to support the needs of the family. Mary is grateful to the Lord for opening this door of opportunity for her family. Her children, once malnourished, are getting stronger physically and mentally because of proper care. Mary’s story is just one from the village of Saonré.
We are very grateful to God who is slowly gathering people together to support ACTS in bringing God’s love to the most vulnerable in Burkina Faso, like Mary and her children.
“I’ve been struggling to keep my brothers and sisters alive since our mom and dad died of AIDS. Until ACTS came to our village I didn’t have much hope for our future. Now I’m beginning to think we might be able to survive.”
Christine had almost given up all hope of keeping her brothers and sisters alive without money to buy food and no skills to earn a living.
James 1, verse 27 reads:
“Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.”
ACTS Ministry endeavors to fulfill this verse through our care of widows and orphans in Burkina Faso.
You can send food to our orphans at the ACTS Center through a ministry in the USA.
