Marguerite's life is being transformed because she can read.
“My name is Marguerite Kabré and I am the mother of one small child. It was not easy for me to begin the ACTS literacy program."
"As a child, I had not been able to go to school. I was determined to work hard to learn how to read despite the difficulties.”
“Today I am able to read, write my name and count. These things are very important for someone like me who wants to manage my own business to provide for my child. ACTS gave me a wonderful opportunity to learn new skills. I am grateful to ACTS for not giving up on me.”
Functional literacy is part of ACTS program for widows. This is a program that was begun after consulting widows and other vulnerable village women in our co-op program.
Many of these women had never been able to attend school as young children and dream of being able to read and write.
Upon successful completion of the three-year course and final exam, women are given an official certificate of literacy.
This certificate allows them to become a business owner.
Learning how to read and write isn’t easy for these women. Pray for the Lord to quicken their minds
