Soumalla
We praise the Lord for giving our students the ability to excel in their studies. We are grateful for faithful instructors who give their time and skill to teach our orphans and other village children. Each year tests are given to students in the country. A very few top students are given special scholarships for school. Sou mail a, an orphan at the ACTS school, was chosen for the national scholarship competition because of his high marks at the final exam time. To recognize his accomplishment, the ACTS staff gave him pasta and pop to take home for a family meal. Pasta is one of the favorite treats for Burkinabé children. Villagers cannot afford to buy pop for their children. Students who do not eat regular meals cannot excel in school. Their minds cannot function well. More than 700 village children attend ACTS schools and are assured of at least one meal a day. We thank donors who sponsor children at the ACTS schools. When you sponsor a child in school, part of your donation goes towards vitamin-enriched meals at noontime. We are very pleased that the ACTS school is able to send a student to compete at a national level with other schools in the country. With you help, children, once forgotten, sick and malnourished, are getting stronger physically and mentally.
