Wendyam, Palingwende and Wendgoudi
Three boys were brought to the ACTS Hope Orphanage by an auntie who gave her life to the Lord. They were originally from a Muslim family but became Christians when they lived with their aunt. Being a poor village widow, she could no longer provide daily necessities like food, clothing and school for them. She was delighted when she found the ACTS Center. While they lived with her, she gave them new names in the Mooré language: Lassané is now WENDYAM, which means “god’s will.” Aziz is now PALINGWENDE which means, “it is not a surprise to God.” The youngest is WENDGOUDI, which means, “God is my protector.” His mother gave him this name just before she died, so his name has not been changed. As they enter the ACTS Center, orphans are tested for HIV/AIDS and other possible health problems. They are given vitamin-enriched meals, a place to sleep, clothes and evaluated for school placement. Orphans attend the ACTS schools, from pre-school through secondary school. Read about children whose lives have been forever changed by the loving staff of ACTS Ministry in Burkina Faso.
